FSC Certified Products
States Industries is chain-of-custody certified by the Forest Stewardship
Council. The FSC is an international, non-governmental organization
founded to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial
and economically viable management of the worlds forests.
Certification means that we can purchase wood from forests that
have been certified by the FSC to be well managed with the goal
of sustainability, and manufacture and identify products made from
that wood.
The FSC is generally recognized as the most rigorous
of several certification programs, and States Industries was the
first hardwood plywood mill in the US to be certified to their standards.
Our certification number is SCS-C-00038.
Products
Currently the FSC recognizes products that are made from 100% certified
wood as well as products that meet a minimum of 70% certified content.
Each is labeled according to its content level.
States produces veneer core, particleboard and ApplePly
panels that meet FSC content requirements, and we continue to look
for sources of certified material in order to expand that offering.
