ArmorCore®
DESCRIPTION
Combination Core
WHY USED
ArmorCore® combines the low weight and high strength of veneer cores with the superior flatness and high density of MDF under face and back veneers. It offers improved appearance in higher grades of face veneers and minimizes "checking".
DIMENSIONS
ArmorCore may be used to construct 4' x 8' and 4' x 10' panels that range from 1/2" - 1-1/4" thick.
WHERE USED
Cabinets, furniture and architectural interiors all benefit from ArmorCore's advantages. ArmorCore should be specified as a core when a panel needs to have the weight, structural value and screw holding ability of veneer core, and the uniformly flat and dense surface of MDF. ArmorCore is also specified in very low humidity areas to minimize veneer "checking".
DIMENSIONS
ArmorCore may be used to construct 4' x 8' and 4' x 10' panels that range from 1/2" - 1-1/4" thick.
OPTIONS
Both one-step and two-step constructions are available. Two-step construction provides more critical thickness tolerances and minimizes the telegraphing of imperfections from the veneer innerplies. All face and back species may be laminated to ArmorCore, and all NOVA finishes may be applied.
ENVIRONMENTAL
ArmorCore is constructed from softwood veneer innerplies and thin MDF crossbands. It always exceeds CARB 93120.12 and may be ordered without urea-formaldehyde adhesives. FSC Certification is also an option. If NOVA finishes are included, they are 100% solid, modified epoxy acrylate that is cured by ultraviolet light. They do not release any volatile organic compounds or hazardous air pollutants in manufacturing or in use. These coatings are roll applied in a flat line system that recycles excess finish, eliminating waste and curing instantaneously. NOVA finishes comply with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1113, and contributes to LEED IEQ 4.2: Low Emitting Materials-Paints and Coatings.

Wood has natural variations. Data is provided for comparison purposes and does not constitute a claim by States Industries that all panels will meet the values expressed. Many cores offer enhanced performance characteristics options, these values are typical.
